About Massey Tower

The tower's Yonge Street entrance is the former Canadian Bank of Commerce headquarters at 197 Yonge Street, built in 1905 and vacant from 1987 until it became part of the development, with the historic doors kept in the lobby. The project also gave neighbouring Massey Hall much-needed backstage space.

Above the heritage base, the 208-metre tower holds 699 suites on an S-shaped footprint, with floors three to eight given over to parking. Amenities include a fitness centre with spin and yoga studios, sauna and steam rooms, and a party room with a piano bar and lounge.

Early residents moved in while amenities were still unfinished, and some of the harshest reviews date from that period. Recent threads are more measured, describing a busy building with acceptable soundproofing and almost no street parking.
