What is the difference between a realtor and a real estate agent in BC?

In BC, a real estate licensee is anyone who holds a valid BCFSA licence and is authorized to trade in real estate. This includes both salespersons and managing brokers. Managing brokers hold additional qualifications and can oversee a brokerage. The most important step regardless of title is verifying that a BC agent's licence is current and active.

A Realtor with a capital R is a trademark of the Canadian Real Estate Association. Only CREA members can use this title. Realtors follow a code of ethics beyond the minimum BCFSA rules. Most licensed agents in BC are also CREA members. Find licensed real estate agents in Vancouver to get started.
