About Westmount Square
The complex fills the block between Sainte-Catherine Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard, and between Wood and Greene avenues. It was modelled on Mies's Lake Shore Drive Apartments in Chicago, with black anodized aluminium curtain walls and smoked glass. Construction began in 1964 and it opened in December 1967.
Below the towers is a shopping concourse of about 35 shops, connected by tunnel to Place Alexis Nihon, Dawson College and Atwater métro station. Listings for units at 2 Westmount Square describe valet service, 24-hour security, a pool, a fitness centre and a sauna.
Wikipedia says construction began in 1964 and the complex opened in 1967; Zillow lists unit 801 as built in 1964. We could not confirm the number of residential units or the original developer. Listings for 2 Westmount Square use postal codes H3Z 1P2 and H3Z 2S5.
