About Smith Street Lofts
The rebuild was a serious piece of engineering: about 60 per cent of the exterior masonry was removed and replaced with curtain wall and balconies, work that won Crosier Kilgour an Award of Excellence in Building Engineering at the 2023 ACEC awards. Akman Construction built it; the result is studios, one- and two-bedrooms, double-storey lofts and penthouses over an eight-storey precast parkade.
The building is new enough that the resident record is thin — 24 Google reviews and a handful of Reddit threads. The one recent signal worth knowing about is a March 2026 thread in which residents report the building went from three available units to nearly the entire building listed for rent, with no explanation given. Ask the leasing office about that directly.
Suite count is not published. Edison Properties gives the building 18 storeys; rentals.ca lists the year built as 2022, matching Edison's own "opening Spring 2022" copy.
