About Holiday Towers

Lakeview Square was the first project of the Metro corporation's $40-million Downtown Development Plan and, at the time, the largest commercial development in downtown Winnipeg. Libling Michener designed the whole complex to work as a city within a building: climate-controlled walkways 16 feet above grade tie the towers to the Delta hotel, the office blocks and the Winnipeg Convention Centre, and there is a convenience store and hair salon on site.

The appeal is price and inclusion — bachelor through penthouse suites, big balconies, concrete construction, all utilities included, a rooftop pool and furnished suites you can take short-term. The complaints on Google and Reddit are about management and pests, and they are consistent enough that they should shape any viewing.

The Winnipeg Architecture Foundation gives both towers 25 storeys and the north tower 264 suites; Wikipedia's list of tallest buildings in Winnipeg gives the south tower 26 floors in 1974 and the north tower 25 floors in 1973. A total suite count for the complex is not published.
